You’re going to leave with an adorable Chunky Yarn Christmas Stocking that YOU made yourself. But this class is about so much more than making one stocking. With over 20 years of experience, I don’t just show you what to do and send you on your way. I teach you a skill.
ALREADY KNOW THE BASICS? THIS IS YOUR REGISTRATION.
The Intermediate registration is for students who have already learned and are comfortable with the foundational chunky yarn stitches and techniques. If you’ve previously taken my Chunky Blanket Class, attended the beginner portion of one of my other chunky yarn classes, or already have experience with these techniques and can comfortably use them on your own, this is your registration. You do not need to arrive for the additional beginner instruction. You’ll join us when we’re ready to jump directly into creating the Chunky Yarn Christmas Stocking.
Our beginner students will already have spent the previous hour learning and practicing their foundational skills, which means you won't spend the beginning of class sitting through instruction on techniques you already know. We get right to the project.
But Intermediate does NOT mean you're on your own. I'm still going to guide you step-by-step through the entire Christmas Stocking. The difference is that we're able to build on the skills you already have instead of starting from square one. And just like every class I teach, I'm not interested in having you blindly copy what my hands are doing. I want you to understand how the project is constructed and WHY we're doing what we're doing.

How to construct and shape a chunky yarn stocking
How the shape changes as you work through different portions of the project
How to create the heel, foot, and other shaping needed for the stocking
How to maintain consistent stitches while shaping

Why certain techniques are used to create the finished shape
What mistakes to watch for throughout the project
How to recognize when something isn’t looking right
How to correct mistakes without throwing the entire stocking across the room
How to properly finish your Christmas Stocking

Not completely comfortable with the basics yet?
If you have NOT already learned the foundational chunky yarn stitches and techniques, please register for the Beginner option. Beginner students arrive one hour earlier specifically so I can teach those foundational skills and give them time to practice before we begin the Christmas Stocking. If you’re unsure which registration you need, choose Beginner. There’s nothing wrong with taking the extra hour. I’d rather have you come early and realize:
“Oh dang, I already know this.”
...than arrive for Intermediate and realize five minutes into the stocking that you absolutely do not.
