Come for the Stocking. Leave with the SKILL.
Ready to learn chunky yarn?
You’re going to leave with an adorable Chunky Yarn Christmas Stocking that YOU made yourself. But just like all of my classes, this one is about so much more than making one cute Christmas decoration. With over 20 years of experience, I don’t just show you what to do and send you on your way. I teach you a skill.
NEW TO CHUNKY YARN? THIS IS YOUR REGISTRATION.
If you’ve never worked with chunky yarn before, or you have not already learned the foundational stitches and techniques, you need the Beginner registration. Beginner students arrive one hour before our intermediate students. During that first hour, we’re going to slow everything down and start with the basics. I’ll teach you the foundational chunky yarn stitches and techniques you’ll need for the Christmas Stocking, give you time to actually practice them, show you what mistakes to watch for, and make sure you’re comfortable before we begin the actual project.
Then our intermediate students will join us and we’ll all begin creating the Chunky Yarn Christmas Stocking together.
That extra hour means you’re not trying to learn brand-new stitches while simultaneously trying to figure out how the hell a pile of yarn is supposed to turn into a stocking. You learn first. Then we make the cool stuff. Throughout the project, I’ll guide you step-by-step, but I’m not going to have you blindly copy what I’m doing. I want you to understand what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, how to recognize when something has gone wrong, and most importantly, how to fix it.
You’ll learn:
Foundational beginner chunky yarn stitches and techniques
The stitches and techniques used specifically in the Christmas Stocking
How to comfortably work with chunky chenille yarn
How to create and maintain consistent stitches
How to shape your project so it actually starts looking like a stocking
How the structure and shape change as you work
How to create the heel, foot, and other shaping needed for the stocking
How to join and finish different sections cleanly
Why we do things a certain way instead of simply following directions
What common mistakes to watch for
How to recognize when something isn’t looking right
How to FIX it instead of ripping the entire damn thing apart
How to properly finish your project
All the little tips, tricks, and techniques I’ve learned through 20+ years of experience
You won’t get this level of instruction from an online tutorial or another chunky yarn class in town.
Because my goal isn’t for you to leave saying:
“Look at this Christmas Stocking I made.”
I want you to leave saying:
“Holy crap. I know how to MAKE that.”
Because there’s a difference.
The stocking is the project we’re making that day, but the stitches, shaping, construction, and techniques you learn are skills you can carry into other chunky yarn projects long after class is over.
You’re not paying to simply follow along with a project. You’re learning a skill you get to keep.
And you just happen to walk out with a ridiculously cute chunky stocking ready to hang up for Christmas.

Already know the basics?
If you have already learned the foundational chunky yarn stitches and techniques — for example, through my Chunky Blanket Class or another beginner-level class I'v taught, and you’re comfortable using them on your own, you may be ready for the Intermediate registration.
Intermediate students skip the additional beginner instruction and arrive when we’re ready to begin the actual Christmas Stocking.
If you’re sitting there thinking:
“Well... I’ve worked with chunky yarn before, so I THINK I know the basics...” Choose Beginner.
I’d much rather have you come an hour early and discover you’re ahead of the game than show up for Intermediate and realize we’re speaking fluent yarn and you missed the language lesson.
Ready to Make Yours?
Seats are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Everything you need to make your Christmas Stocking is included, so you don’t need to show up with yarn, tools, or any idea what you’re doing.
Just bring yourself. I’ll handle the rest.
Come hang out, learn something new, make something awesome, and leave with a Christmas Stocking you can hang up and proudly say:
“Yep. I MADE that.”
